Initial Oral Examination
Your initial oral visit to Dental Designs will usually include a visual, radiographic, head and neck, and cancer screening examinations. The visual portion involves dental charting of existing restorations, your dentition and periodontal recording. The radiographic evaluation includes the panoramic x-ray for proper diagnosis of the anterior (front) and posterior (back) teeth as well as the bite-wing x-ray series for proper diagnosis of proximal decay of posterior teeth. The head and neck and the cancer screening exams are accomplished during and after the above evaluations..
Once this information is gathered, a separate consultation visit will be scheduled. This is one of the most important visits our office can offer you. At this time, we will review your exam findings, discuss you personal desires and needs, then formulate a treatment plan customized to accomplish these goals. During this visit, one of our financial coordinators, Erica or Crystal, will be able to answer any questions you may have about insurance benefits, scheduling any work required, or any other questions you may have not related to specific dental procedures.
If you have a specific urgent dental need, we can many times schedule a quick consult to evaluate that individual concern. Once that concern is identified, we will make a separate appointment to accomplish that task. When you are then comfortable, we can proceed with the above exam at a later date.

Whitening procedures have effectively restored the smile of people with stained, dull, or discolored teeth. The darker tissue of your teeth, the dentin, can become exposed as the outer layer of enamel is worn away by the effects of aging or things like caffeine and tobacco. Read More...

If this doesn't resolve your concerns, please contact us so that we may better diagnose the source of your discomfort. Sometimes, a toothache can be caused or aggravated by a piece of debris lodged between the tooth and another tooth.
